GDPR - SECURITY AND EFFICIENCY

The GDPR deadlines have been the letmotiv that have guided us through this first 2018 semester, leaning between the discomfort of adjusting and the satisfaction with a proactive European Union on cutting edge topics.

Although, deep into the topic, we can see how, even if bothering, the compliance measures to the GDPR could be an important check-point and also a moment of revision for business processes.

This tool that can be used to monitor data, which have lately come to be more and more important and in need to be protected and safeguarded, especially in cases where the cyber threats have had a wider spread due to significant number of technologies collecting data which are even more pervasive.

In Europe only it has been calculated that digital data treatment in 2020 will have reached 740 billion of euros, which makes 4% of GDP.

Every single day we both produce and consume data through the net with smartphones, computers and tablets but also in the field of home automation and car GPS. Any move, at work or at home, gives birth to data, that is immediately shared, without anyone even paying attention to it and making this process more and more usual for us; our private information can be uploaded in the net and be used without our agreement, sometimes also damaging ourselves and our businesses.

This has recently been the focus of the European Union which, with the use of GDPR, is trying to create a security net capable of protecting our data but also of making us aware of the risks in online sharing data, particularly of businesses.
