Strive for the future without forgetting your past
Born in 1924 in Sarezzo, in the province of Brescia. In his early years, he studied at the Esperia High School in Bergamo, where he obtained a diploma in chemistry specialising in steel. His collaboration toward reviving the Piombino and Bagnoli blast furnaces allowed him to put into practice the knowledge acquired throughout his academic career. Thanks to his knowledge and experience on the ground, he was called to head the foundry department at “Eredi Gnutti”, at the time considered one of Europe's most important metallurgical companies. Here he met Domenica Sala, his future wife.
Equipped with a small crucible furnace and a test laboratory, Andrea started his business in Sarezzo. His knowledge as chemical expert, the skills acquired in the metallurgical industry, dedication and, not less important, commitment are at the foundation of RMG
The first shed rose in Sarezzo. A rotary furnace was added to the equipment already present in the small initial RMG premises
Andrea moved the company to a larger production plant. This marked the establishment of the current premises located in Villa Carcina, an area now used as a warehouse
The company grew both in size, with the addition of an additional shed, and human-wise. The second generation of the Guizzi family joined the company: The first was Fausto Guizzi, current CEO of RMG, followed by all his siblings
Protecting the environment and the community are among our top priorities at RMG. This is why the first fume removal system was installed
An additional shed was built, the last building block to complete the current RMG premises
Andrea started a new business with his brother-in-law Marcello Sala: his skills combined with Marcello's fifty-year experience in the industry created Sagifond, a secondary fusion foundry
RMG and Sagifond become one and the same after the merger of the two companies
Andrea died suddenly in the peak of his strength. His children decided to continue the production of bronze ingots started by their father and his entrepreneurial way of thinking: to offer a quality product, always with a keen eye to social and environmental responsibility
RMG obtained the ISO 9001 quality management system certificate
The Guizzi family shut down its secondary fusion foundryso as to exclusively focus on the production of bronze ingots and took the opportunity to seek new opportunities: internationalisation became one of the company's objectives
Beginning of the third millennium, third generation of the Guizzi family joined the company: Andrea’s grandchildren took the road paved by their grandfather about forty years earlier. In the same year RMG obtained the ISO 14001 certificate due to its environmental protection efforts
RMG was one of Italy's earliest companies to be awarded the IEA - Integrated Environmental Authorisation - (IPPC - Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control)
A year of great economic crisis. Many Italian foundries, the main target of RMG, are forced to shut down: the company decided to step even deeper into the global market
In order to cope with the aftermath of the 2009 crisis and with the aim of boosting awareness around its products abroad, the company began to take part in international trade fairs
Coronavirus pandemic. With the health of our employees in mind, we - as the Guizzi family - decided to close the company in advance with respect to the national lockdown. We - at RMG - resumed production activities the earliest possible in compliance with safety regulations, trying our level best to support customers and suppliers through the health crisis
Constantly striving for innovation, but always linked to our origins, we carry the torch of Andrea's legacy: holding firmly to our identity and our values is the only way to constantly improve our production of bronze ingots, the trust-based relationships with our stakeholders and pursue our objectives.
2021, the 60th anniversary of RMG. We keep on renovating, or rather, we find our identity. We unveil our new logo, a new image to steer us to the future, while we give shape to our identity always bearing in mind the people who helped build our company.
